The US Agriculture Department set the prevailing world market price for upland cotton at 45.86 cents per pound, effective through July 1.
The price is adjusted to US quality and location for Strict Low Middling, 1-1/16 inch upland cotton.

Net Upland sales of 137,800 RB were 16 percent above the previous week and 1 percent over the prior 4-week average. The major buyers were Mexico (39,700 RB), Turkey (14,400 RB), Canada (14,200 RB), Indonesia (12,800 RB), Vietnam (10,500 RB), and Bangladesh (10,500 RB).
Net sales of 121,800 RB for delivery in 2004/05 resulted as increases for Pakistan (30,800 RB), South Korea (20,400 RB), Indonesia (16,600 RB), Mexico (16,000 RB), Japan (9,400 RB), and El Salvador (6,200 RB) were partially offset by decreases for Canada (13,500 RB).
Exports of 367,500 RB were 5 percent below the week earlier, but 16 percent over the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (130,200 RB), Mexico (84,900 RB), Turkey (35,200 RB), Indonesia (19,900 RB), Thailand (16,900 RB), South Korea (12,500 RB), and Vietnam (10,400 RB).
