Foreign Office Spokesman Masood Khan said on Wednesday that government of Pakistan was making all out efforts to get Amjad Hafeez released.
That was a very delicate, sensitive and rather complicated issue requiring careful effort to avoid any mishap, the spokesman told a private Television network.
"Our Liaison office has been advised to make efforts for the release of Amjad Hafeez at every level and we are in close contact with it", the spokesman said. He said that they had also asked the religious authorities there, to play their role to ensure safe release of Amjad Hafeez and Pakistani Government and people were deeply shocked over the his kidnapping.
He was the only sponsor of his family including a widow mother, three young sisters and a brother, the spokesman added.
Massod Khan said there were thousands of Pakistanis working in the Gulf States and Amjad Hussain was one of them delivering his duties as a driver in a Kuwaiti firm.
Pakistan had provided substantial assistance to people of Iraq in post war scenario, he said and added they also wanted to participate in rebuilding activities over there.
He said the family of detained Amjad Hussain particularly his mother was passing through very tragic circumstance following his abduction.
He said there were Muslims in Iraq as well as in Pakistan and there were of course mothers in both the countries. The kidnappers of Amjad Hafeez should release him understanding the pain of a mother on humanitarian basis, he said.
"We appeal to them in the name of Islam that following the teachings of our religion they should release Amjad Hafeez".
