After a few days of the announcement of the national budget the owners of cement factories raised the prices from Rs 210 to Rs 230 per bag without any notice. The price check committee and the federal government is a silent over the issue.
In spite of the fact that the finance minister assured the nation as the well as members of National Assembly that in the best interests of the nation and the construction - industry that no tax would be imposed on the material being used in construction.Further the excise duty on point was reduced. It is surprising the cement prices were raised without any justification. The government should see to this issue seriously and reduce the prices of cement to the level of at least Rs 200 per bag if not less than this.
