Cordial relations, mutual understanding and a spirit of co-operation among the labourers and industrialists would pave the way for an accelerated industrial development.
This was stated by District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Tahir Hussain on the occasion of cheques' distribution of marriage/death grant and educational scholarships among the industrial workers here on Thursday.
He said that an early achievement of the goal to make Pakistan a progressive and prosperous country would be possible.
The DCO said the government was taking numerous steps for the welfare and betterment of the labour class.
Under the same spirit, the DCO said, free provision of education, books, uniforms and transport facilities to their children, a reasonable grant for the marriage of workers' daughters, death grants and educational scholarships to their children were being provided, besides provision of free medical treatment facilities being provided to them.
District Officer (DO), Labour, Muhammad Aslam Javed said the performance of Human Resource Board here had been rated as the best in the province.
So far, he said, Rs 87.1 million had been distributed among the industrial workers under different heads, while the cheques for Rs 2.75 million under marriage grant, Rs 3.85 million under talent scholarships, and Rs 04 million under the death grant being distributed at this function.
He said the role of industrial workers in the journey of national progress and prosperity was of fundamental importance.
He said that the government was paying maximum attention towards their welfare and provision of better facilities so that they could perform their duties with dedication and full attention.
This way the wheel of industrial development would move forward more swiftly and smoothly, he added.
Human Resource Board Vice-Chairman Khwaja Asim Khursheed said the industrialists and workers enjoyed ideal mutual relations in Faisalabad that was why Faisalabad, besides achieving an accelerated progress in the field of industry, had also enjoyed a prominent place in the export business.
He hoped that their mutual relations would further strengthen with every passing day in the future.
Later, the cheques of marriage grant, talent scholarship and death grant were distributed among the labourers and their widows and children.
The EDO (Community Development), Chaudhry Shabbir Ahmad; Labour Monitoring Committee Chairman Sharafat Ali Khatak; members of Human Resource Board Mian Shahbaz Ahmad; Shahnaz Sajid, Yasmin Zahoor; FCCI's former President Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmad, labour leaders Mian Muhammad Arshad; industrialists and workers in a large number were also present on this occasion.
