Pakistani-American Liaison Centre (PAL-C) held here a workshop to discuss the political activism of Pakistani-American youth and to train the Rising Leaders on the working of the US Congress.
Rising Leaders is the youth wing of the PAL-C, which aims to motivate and encourage the younger Pakistani-American community to join the political sphere and increase the representation of the Pakistani-Americans in the US political system.
During the workshop, a former Congressional Staffer Umair Khan briefed the Rising Leaders on how to set up meetings with the Congressional Staffers? What to expect at a Congressman's office and professional etiquette on the Hill?
Pakistani Scientists and Engineers of North American Association's President Tariq Khan, who has worked with the Congress for the past fifteen years, spoke to the Rising Leaders on the best way to present proposals to the members of Congress.
He conducted mock meetings and provided constructive criticism.
PAL-C Executive Director Faiz Rehman welcomed the Rising Leaders to the PAL-C office.
DCM Sadiq and PAL-C Director, Mossadaq Chughtai also attended the workshop.
PAL-C Rising Leaders Director Nadia Naviwala encouraged the Pakistani-American youth to join the PAL-C and to attend future workshops and seminars.
