One dacoit was killed and two others were arrested after armed encounter with the police at block 4 Satellite Town, Quetta here on Wednesday.
According to the police, the dacoits, who were four in number, barged into house of Shah Wali in Satellite Town and after making the family hostage they started looting cash and other valuables, while in the meantime, one of the house inmates managed to inform the police on telephone.
Police rushed to the site, surrounded the house and ordered the dacoits to surrender. The dacoits started shooting at police in returned police also fired them.
One dacoit was killed and two were arrested while their fourth accomplice managed to escape. The looted cash and valuables were also recovered. The arrested dacoits have been identified as Niaz Muhammad and Bashir Agha.
Nobody was injured. A case has been registered against the culprits and further investigations are in progress.
