USDA cotton export sales highlights
The USDA cotton export sales highlights for latest reporting week:
Net Upland sales of 185,400 RB were 17 percent below the previous week, but 23 percent above the prior 4-week average.
The major buyers were Belgium (45,300 RB), Turkey (33,000 RB), Pakistan (28,400 RB), Taiwan (20,600 RB), Mexico (19,900 RB), and Hong Kong (9,700 RB).
Net sales of 152,100 RB for delivery in the 2004/05 marketing year (which begins August 1) were mainly for South Korea (28,200 RB), Mexico (23,100 RB), Pakistan (14,100 RB), India (11,300 RB), the Philippines (11,100 RB), Guatemala (10,200 RB), and China (10,100 RB).
Exports of 206,500 RB were 22 percent below the week earlier and 34 percent under the prior 4-week average.
The primary destinations were China (52,000 RB), Mexico (43,300 RB), Pakistan (26,800 RB), Turkey (19,500 RB), and Indonesia (10,300 RB).
