Indian occupation troops killed 10 suspected freedom fighters in occupied Kashmir, including six who were trying to cross the Line of Control (LoC), police alleged on Saturday.
The six were gunned down after they sneaked into Kupwara and Poonch districts on Friday night, a police spokesman said.
"Five of the infiltrators were shot dead early on Saturday in the Shahpur area of Poonch district," said a police spokesman.
"The militants were killed during a fierce encounter that erupted as soon as they infiltrated our territory," he said, adding that a soldier was seriously wounded in the gun battle.
Another infiltrator was shot dead by soldiers in northern Kupwara district on Friday night, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, four suspected freedom fighters were killed by Indian occupation troops in three separate gun battles in southern Poonch, Anantnag and northern Baramulla districts.
Suspected freedom fighters also on Saturday hurled a grenade at pro-India politician Ghulam Mohammed Sheikh's house in occupied Srinagar, injuring two women, including his wife, police said.
Sheikh is a senior leader of India's ruling Congress party, which is also a part of Kashmir's ruling alliance.
