Complete Strike was observed in Samundri City here on Monday as a mark of protest against registration of a criminal case against Punjab Assembly member and leader of Pakistan Muslim League(Q) Khalid Nabi Gujjar.
The supporters of MPA and PML (Q) workers set tyres on fire on various roads and created traffic hurdles to express their anguish against the police.
The DPO Faisalabad Mohammed Amin Vaince has suspended Police Inspector/SHO of city Samundri Shahbaz Ahmad Chaddhar and four constables on the charge showing negligence discharging their duties.
In the meantime the District Government Faisalabad had ordered to conduct impartial enquiry into the matter.
According to details, an old enmity was told to be existing among two rival groups in Chak 471GB. Hameed Group had lodged a FIR against Bari Group and included the name of MPA.
Over this step of city police Samundri, the lawyers boycotted the court attendance and took out a protest procession.
Soon after this, PML (Q) workers including Nazims and councillors also took out a protest procession and set blazing tyres in the middle of roads and blocked the traffic for several hours.
