A consultancy agreement has been signed by the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) with National Engineering Services of Pakistan (Nespak) in Islamabad for the development of the interior of the AGP offices and communications networking.
Under the agreement, 32 offices of the AGP all over the country will be computerised to streamline the accounting system and record keeping with the help of funding from the World Bank.
The Rs 10 million contract was signed by the Director for the Project to Improve Financial Reporting and Auditing (Pifra) Moin Aftab and Nespak Vice-President Asad I. A. Khan.
A Nespak spokesman said on Monday that under the terms of the agreement, the project would be completed in six months.
The AGP has selected 11 sites in major cities for completion of work on priority basis in two months.
The agreement also involves setting up of facilitation centres in all 32 offices of the AGP.
The AGP has appointed project co-ordinator in all the four provinces to keep liaison with the Nespak during the course of implementation of the prestigious project.
This is another major consultancy contract awarded to the Nespak, which is already working on vital projects like textile city in Karachi, public houses for the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) employees, a campus for Information Technology University in Quetta etc.
