The lawyers will observe strike across the country on Wednesday to express solidarity with District Bar Association Gujrat and to condemn the highhandedness and excesses of local administration especially Raja Munawar Hussain DPO.
It is pertinent to note that All Pakistan Lawyers Action Committee has decided to hold strike against the government apathy towards lawyers demand to take action against the District Police Officer.
The President of Supreme Court Bar Association, Justice Tariq Mahmood (Retd) talking to media persons said that the lawyers are holding strikes against the misconduct of government functionary but the government is trying to protect him.
He said that the government is scared of lawyers' movement and that is why it is trying to snub lawyers.
He made it clear that the lawyers are ready to scarify for the cause of supremacy of the constitution.
Justice Tariq Mahmood (Retd) said that there is consensus among the lawyers on various issues and we have complete sympathies with Gujrat lawyers who are fighting against the illegal acts of DPO.
He said that the rulers must keep in mind that they could not create rift among the ranks of the lawyers through their touts.
