Thar coal projects is likely to generate about 50,000 new jobs which would help bring prosperity in the waterlogged region.
This was stated by the Country Manager of Nobel Energy in Pakistan, Captain Abdul Rasheed Abro at a briefing on Friday, he said, Pakistan can take advantage of huge coal reserves in the 'Thar region' that could be utilised for cheaper power generation.
In this connection, an 'International Coal Conference' to be organised in Islamabad on August 7, this year, in which internationally renowned experts will share their experiences on utilisation and development of 'Thar Coal Reserve'.
The Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Nouraiz Shakoor as the Chief Guest will inaugurate the 'International Coal Conference' and the Chief Minister Sindh, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim will chair the closing session as chief guest.
Abro said, the international coal conference is being organised by the internationally renowned company 'Nobel Energy of Hong Kong'. The event will be the focal point and expected to be attended largely by local entrepreneur and foreign experts from England, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, United States and many other countries.
He said, the experts will present their papers on the utilisation and development of one of the largest coal mines of the world in Thar and will explore the way to make the most of this abundance of coal to produce energy and its proper consumption in cement industry and many other industries as well.
Experts will also explore the possibilities of foreign investment in this newly emerging sector.
The conference will lead to grab potential foreign investment in Sindh, he said, and hoped that with the proper use of coal energy in cement and many other industrial sector especially in power generation could help saving foreign exchange of the country.Pakistan have so many natural resources including coal that we can fulfil the need of energy of entire country for hundreds of years, he pointed.
In this way, we can not only overcome the shortage of power in the country but we can also provide power to our industries at a very low tariff.
This phenomenon will strengthen our economy and our building industry that will hopefully flourish, Abro added.
He expects a revolution in the field of energy and economical development in the country.
