Chinese Charge d' Affaires in Pakistan Sowing Dahing said on Sunday that construction work at Gwadar port would be completed by December 25 and it would be opened for shipping in April 2005.
Talking to APP here on Sunday, he said that Chinese government has decided to enhance political, economical and cultural ties with Pakistan.
"China would continue investment in Pakistan," he said and expressed complete satisfaction with security steps taken to protect Chinese workers here.
"China is co-operating with Pakistan in the projects of Environment Protection, Information Technology, Chashma Nuclear Power Plant and the construction of small dams in the Northern areas," he added.
He said both countries are endeavouring to increase public interaction and the recent visit of Minister for Information Rashid Ahmad with ten journalists was a step taken in this direction.
A 50-member Chinese and Pakistani Youth delegation would take study tours of the other country, he said and added that this would bring the youth of the two countries closer.
Sowing Dahing said that China would also help Pakistan improve its economy. He lauded Pakistan's stand against the separation movement of Turkistan in Sinkiang. President Pervez Musharraf is committed to root out the menace of terrorism and Chinese companies would continue investment here without any fear, he added.
