I am glad to learn that the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry is holding its 27th FPCCI Export Trophy Awards Ceremony. The Export Trophy Awards not only recognise the outstanding achievements of the leading exporters but also promote healthy competition amongst them. These are, thus an important contribution towards promotion of exports.
Pakistan has entered a new era of competition. The WTO regime poses new challenges to our economy. We can not afford to lag behind others and have to be fully prepared for promotion of our exports.
The Government is taking a number of steps to boost the export culture in the country. All necessary facilities are being provided to the exporters, especially speedy communication links which are the need of the hour.
The FPCCI's role in promotion of exports is appreciable. I must congratulate the President FPCCI and his team for organising the Export Trophy Awards Ceremony and bringing out an impressive and informative brochure.
I also congratulate the award winners for their outstanding export performance and wish them all success in future.
