Professor Dr Yaqub Kazi of the King Edward Medical College, has called for ensuring general hygiene and availability of clean drinking water so as to check the spread of hepatitis, which is growing at an alarming ratio.
He stated this while addressing a seminar on Hepatitis organised by the Vets Blood Donor Society of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) here on Tuesday.
UVAS Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Manzoor Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion.
Dr Kazi spoke about various causes for spread of Hepatitis A, B, C, D, E, F, and G and its prevention through vaccination and personal as well as general hygiene.
