Governing body of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Monday approved revised estimates to the tune of Rs 5.786 billion for development of LDA Avenue-I, an housing scheme for government employees here at Raiwind Road.
Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) which has been assigned the task of executing development works would accomplish the job within 18 months.
The governing body meeting was presided over by District Nazim Lahore and Chairman LDA Mian Amer Mahmood, which was also attended by DG LDA Ikhlaq Ahmed Tarar, DCO Lahore Khalid Sultan, Managing Directors of Wasa and Tepa, Town Nazims Rafiq Hasrat and Amir Munir.
The meeting also allowed two-year extension in service of Chief Metropolitan (Planner) Khawaja Shaukat Jamal and also approved 15 percent enhancement in salaries of Wasa and Tepa employees.
Mian Amer directed to expedite recovery of commercialisation fee from those who are using their properties in LDA residential schemes for commercial purpose. The meeting also decided to provide two plots of five marla each to exemptees due to non-availability of 10 marla plots in Gujarpura scheme.
The meeting also approved the proposal of allowing free of cost transfer of plots against the legal heirs of the deceased allottees in LDA scheme.
The meeting also approved construction of Business Centre of international standard over an area of 1,000 Kanal in Johar Town Housing Scheme.
International firms would also be invited to participate in preparing design of the centre apart from suggesting total height of building.
It also approved revised estimate of Rs 95.9 million for completion of remaining developmental work in Mohlanwal Housing Scheme.
District Nazim directed the Traffic Engineering and Planning Authority (TEPA) to introduce meter-parking system in the city for car parking so that people could be saved from highhandedness of the parking stand contractors.
The meeting took a serious note of security checking by a hotel at Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam which create traffic jam.
The management of the hotel has been asked to arrange necessary checking of vehicles within the hotel premises. He also took serious notice of wrong car parking facilities at PACE departmental store and Hafeez Centre in Gulberg.
