The family members of detained Pakistani army officers have demanded immediate release of their loved ones and said that government has bent upon to terrorise the patriotic sons of Pakistan and people who follow the Islam.
These were the views of the family members of Colonel Khalid Abbasi, Colonel Abdul Ghafar, Major Attaullah Watto, Major Rohail Faraz and Captain Usman Zafar during a protest demonstration here before Rawalpindi Islamabad Press Club on Tuesday.
The female members of the families of detained army officers held demonstration along with their children.
"It is unfortunate that the government on one side is raising voice against the highhandedness of Indian Army in Indian held Kashmir while on the other hand the same is being practised in Pakistan", they said.
The only sin of these detained officers was that they were patriotic sons of Pakistan and true Muslims in their faith, they said adding that after passage of one and a half year they were not being told that where these officers were kept in custody.
"We don't even know the fate of our loved ones, either they are alive or not. Have they been handed over to America or they are in Pakistan", the family members showed concern.
They said that these acts of present government are worst in its nature as in the past no civilian government did this even to the political opponents or its own officers.
They further said, they are not being informed under which crime these officers were detained and nor they are being allowed to see them.
"We have knocked the door of justice and even filed a petition in the Supreme Court but no hearing has been made so far on it", they said.
Criticising the double standards of the government they said that on one hand Indian prisoners were being released in the name of humanity while on the other hand Pakistani army officers are being kept under detention without saying a word about their whereabouts.
"Government on the name of operation against terrorists has let loose the reign of terror in the country and the whole nation is suffering due to this illegitimate operation", they added.
