The Refund Sales Tax and Central Excise (ST&CE) department has announced to clear all the claims of Sialkot exporters within three days of submission of their refund claims.
This was announced by the Deputy Collector Refund Sales Tax and Central Excise (ST&CE) Asif Yousaf Ghurki, while addressing a meeting of local business community at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), here, on Tuesday.
President SCCI Tahir Majeed Kapur and Chairman Pakistan Gloves Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Pgmea) Shaikh Muhammad Yaqub were also present on this occasion.
Deputy Collector said that this step has been taken to give maximum financial relief to Sialkot business community by modifying this system.
He said that refund claims' procedure has been further simplified and a special centre has also been established at Sialkot Dry Port, where, the on duty superintendent and auditor are bound to clear all the sales tax refund claims within the three days on priority basis.
Ghurki said that the collection and approval of all the old pending refund claims 2001 CD would be made in six weeks on first come and first serve (FCFS) basis.
The meeting also decided to formulate a special committee for resolving the problems of manufacturers-com-exporters and commercial exporters for preparing a profile on the recommendations of this committee.
He said that this profile would be linked to electronic data-base and refund claims system.
