Pakistan came into being after great sacrifices and restless efforts by our ancestors and, therefore, youth should play their role in the development and promotion of the country.
Cultural and Youth Affairs Minister Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani stated this, at the 'Azadi Festival' at PAF Museum.
The festival was organised by Habib Oils Mills and managed by Nutshell in association with UHU Kids Club.
Various activities, including debate, national songs and tableau competitions were held among school children. Fifty stalls were set up at the festival by different companies in order to entertain a large number of visitors who came at the PAF Museum to celebrate Azadi Festival.
Musical, puppet and magic shows were also arranged. Independence Day should be celebrated with the spirit of freedom and today every citizen of Pakistan is celebrating this Independence Day with all joy and happiness regardless of religion's representation, Qaimkhani said.
All Pakistan Private Schools Management (APPSM) President Syed Khalid Shah said, "We as nation should salute our martyrs and follow the messages of love and peace of our ancestors so that Pakistan's name would become example for other countries."
"Now it is our duty to take care of our dear homeland and play our role for development and promotion of Pakistan," he said.
