A candidate of Pakistan People's Party (Parliamentarians) from PP-10, Punjab, Masood Akhtar, filed an additional petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against Abrar Ahmed, MPA, for restricting him from attending the assembly sessions by suspending impugned judgment of Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi Bench.
Mohammad Ikram Chaudhry, counsel for the petitioner, said that Punjab MPA Abrar Ahmed of Pakistan Muslim League (N) be restrained from attending the assembly sessions.
He said that notification issued by the Election Commission in this regard may also be suspended till the final disposal of this case.
He also made requested the Court to fix the matter for early hearing as it relates to rights of public and their confidence in institutions.
Both the petitioner and the respondents belong to ARD and contested election from PP-10 constituency of Rawalpindi and Abrar Ahmed was declared winner in the election, according to notification issued by the appellant also annexed with his petition before the Tribunal the changed result of 3 polling stations No-55, 77 and 79.
According to announced result, the appellant had secured 16,483 votes in the constituency whereas Abrar Ahmed got 17,009 votes. The difference was only 516 votes.
