Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Saturday said that the policy for regularisation of over 1000 Resource Persons in PTV would be presented to the new government.
This he stated while talking to a delegation of newly elected PTV Employees Union here.
The minister advised that the PTV employees should make all out efforts to revive the position of the national flag bearer organisation.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed expressed the hope that PTV would become self-reliant due to the tireless efforts of its employees, who would leave no stone unturned in restoring its past glory.
He said that the PTV had been facing great challenges in the field and they would have to make extra efforts to meet them in an efficient manner.
He said that the government would endeavour to provide all facilities to the employees, including the residential accommodation.
He said a comprehensive plan was being chalked out for the purpose.
The minister asked the office bearers of the new union to submit their suggestions for boosting the performance of the employees for an ultimate uplift of the organisation.
The union representatives thanked the minister for providing special grant of over Rs 840 million for modernisation of PTV and giving special attention towards the welfare of its employees.
They also thanked for his special attention to help recover Rs 350 million, out of its total outstanding dues in various sectors.
