Heavy fluctuations were marked on the wholesale commodity markets showing movement both sides of the counter during the week ended on August 28, 2004.
Commodities noted for changes were wheat, sugar, til, basmati whole, til Sindh, moong Punjab, yellow peas and dal, gram new and gram dal, tea, jute goods and raw rubber.
The raw rubber was higher such as RSSV up Rs 2.50 to Rs 48.50, Pak Crape TPC 3 up Rs 3.50 to Rs 50, Semnan Tex up Rs 13 to Rs 357 and Thai (G.T) up Rs 13 to Rs 357.
TEAS FROM KENYA: PF-1 A grade up RE 1 to Rs 163, B grade up Re 1 to Rs 145, plus C grade up Rs 4 to Rs 135, C grade at Rs 150. BP-1 A grade up Re 1 to Rs 177, D-1 A grade up Re 1 to Rs 196, B grade up Rs 7 to Rs 177, and plus C grade up Rs 3 to Rs 153, dust A grade up Rs 3 to Rs 138, Bangladesh's Khushbu up Rs 30 to Rs 93.
HESSIAN CLOTH: 45x10 Amin up Rs 25 to Rs 1375 and 45x9 quoted at Rs 1325.
Rapeseeds Nawabshah lost Rs 15 to Rs 765, better lost same amount to Rs 770, rapeseed Dadu lost Rs 15 to Rs 675 and better shed Rs 20 to Rs 680, Mirpur's rapeseeds inferior down Rs 20 to Rs 740 and better shed Rs 745, rapeseed cakes was quoted at Rs 268 and better at Rs 270, til Sindh old quoted at Rs 1600 and Rs 1650 and til new quoted at Rs 1400 and Rs 1550, cotton cakes quoted at Rs 560 and new cotton cakes quoted at Rs 490, castorseeds Lasbela and Sindh inferior was up Rs 50 to Rs 600 and better up Rs 50 to Rs 625, moong Punjab quoted at Rs 1875, barley Sindh and Mardan inferior up Rs 25 to Rs 1000, wheat old was earlier quoted at Rs 1170 but later gained Rs 10 to Rs 1185 but lost Rs 5 later in the weak to be quoted at Rs 1180.
Guwar was quoted at Rs 1600 and Rs 1625, after gaining inferior Rs 80 to Rs 1680 and better up Rs 75 to Rs 1700, was better down substantially inferior down Rs 45 to Rs 1635 and better down Rs 40 to Rs 1660, yellow peas fluctuated twice to be lost quoted at Rs 1550 and better at Rs 1590, yellow peas dal down Rs 45 to Rs 1680 and better up Rs 55 to Rs 1720, urad Burma lost Rs 30 to Rs 750 and better down Rs 20 to Rs 760, bajra was down twice to be quoted at Rs 1200 and Rs 1350.
SUGAR EARLIER LOST INFERIOR: Rs 25 to Rs 1900 and better shed same amount to Rs 1925, but later gained Rs 20 to Rs 1920 and better up Rs 25 to Rs 1950, khandsari quoted inferior at Rs 1650 and better up Rs 100 to Rs 1950, beetle chana I quoted at Rs 2150 and Rs 2200, but later inferior was down Rs 25 to Rs 2075 and better shed same amount to Rs 2175, beetle 50x50 was quoted at Rs 1950 and Rs 1990 later inferior lost Rs 25 to Rs 1925 and better shed Rs 15 to Rs 1975, dal beetle was quoted earlier at Rs 2425 and better at Rs 2475, but later inferior shed Rs 5 to Rs 2400 and better lost Rs 25 to Rs 2450, gram new quoted at Rs 1840 and Rs 1880, gram dal was quoted at Rs 2425 and Rs 2475, irri 9 Sindh quoted at Rs 1350 and Rs 1450, basmati D98 was lost seen at Rs 1600 and Rs 1700, irri 6 Sindh inferior gained Rs 50 to Rs 1300 and better up Rs 25 to Rs 1325, basmati 386 was quoted at Rs 1600 and Rs 1700, makai was higher by Rs 25 to Rs 825 and better up Rs 25 to Rs 875.
FRIDAY'S: Gram new down Rs 15 to Rs 1825, better down Rs 5 to Rs 1875, gram dal inferior down Rs 25 to Rs 2125, and better down same amount to Rs 2175, til Sindh old was quoted at Rs 1500, and Rs 1700, and til new quoted at Rs 1500 and Rs 1600, castorseeds Lasbela and Sindh new up Rs 75 to Rs 675 and better up same amount to Rs 700. Wheat old recovered Rs 5 to Rs 1185.
KIRANA ITEMS: White pepper down Rs 400 to Rs 7400, mace down Rs 200 to Rs 17,000, nutmeg down Rs 100 to Rs 7600, cloves down same amount to Rs 8800, isbaghol bhoosi down Rs 100 to Rs 7900 and cuminseed down Rs 25 to Rs 4075.
SATURDAY'S: Rapeseed Nawabshah quoted at Rs 825 and Rs 830, Mirpurlane up Rs 20 to Rs 760 and better up same amount to Rs 765, rapeseed cakes up Rs 5 to Rs 273 and better up Rs 5 to Rs 275, cotton cakes old quoted at Rs 500 and new cakes Rs 510.
PLASTIC MOULDING: underhead HDPE injection Sabic 200056 quoted at Rs 38. Mobile 016 down 50 paisa to Rs 38, Thai down 25 paisa to Rs 37.50, HDPE blow Kuwait up sharply quoted at Rs 37, PP film Thai up Re 1 to Rs 39, Kuwait up Re 1 to Rs 39, and India up Re 1 to Rs 39, PP tape grade India up Rs 1.50 to Rs 40, Kuwait up Rs 1.50 to Rs 40, and Saudia up Rs 1.50 to Rs 40, polystyrene Pakistani up Rs 60 to Rs 2760, Copoly Block up Re 1 to Rs 42, Random up Re 1 to Rs 43, High Impact Pak quoted at Rs 2875.
