After several years of direct air link suspension with Moscow, the national carrier PIA restarted its service with the departure of first PIA flight PK-733 to the Russian capital.
Operating via Dubai, the PIA Boeing carrying 177 passengers onboard including 10 in Club Class, left Karachi at 11.30 am on Sunday bringing Moscow as 43rd destination on the PIA's route network.
At the Quaid-e-Azam International Airport, the flight was seen off by PIA Deputy Managing Director Finance, Kaleem Malik and other senior PIA officials. Kaleem Malik also travelled onboard the flight to Moscow.
PIA will operate to Moscow twice a week on Sundays and Wednesdays.
It may be mentioned here that under its route expansion plan, PIA this year started its operation to Bombay, Delhi, Dhaka, Kathmandu, Colombo, Tashkent, Almaty, Fujaira, Ras-ul-Khaima, Milan and Houston and now Moscow being the latest one.
