The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) will hold a function on September 6 (Monday) in the Supreme Court Building on the commencement of new judicial year scheduled to begin from the day after summer vacation.
According to the programme of the Supreme Court Bar Association, a function will be held in the Supreme Court Building and Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Nazim Hussain Siddiqui, and other Judges will participate in the function.
Talking to APP, Mohammad Ikram Chaudhry, Vice President of Supreme Court Bar Association, said that the Association has already extended invitation to the Chief Justice and other Judges besides others including office-bearers of the Pakistan Bar Council, High Courts Bar Associations and Advocates of the Supreme Court.
He said that the Chief Justice has confirmed his participation in the function and it would be a great occasion at the time of commencement of the judicial year after a gap of years.
He said that holding of this function was decided after having detailed discussion with the Chief Justice aimed at reviving the traditions in the history of judiciary.
He said, "We expect that this function will be held in the Court Room instead of Auditorium of the Supreme Court Building." He said that the Association will also hold a function in the Islamabad Club in the evening on September 6 as part of the function in the Supreme Court Building scheduled to be held in the morning.
More than a hundred Judges of the Apex Court, Judges of the Federal Shariat Court, advocates and former Judges would participate in the function, Ikram said.
