The "Janam Ashtami, the birth festival of Lord Krishna will be celebrated by the Hindu community at Shri Narain Temple, M.A. Jinnah Road here on Tuesday.
All Pakistan Hindu Punchayat (APHP) Chairman Shri Mahant Mukhi Chatromal Chandan has appealed to his community to participate in the festival with zeal and enthusiasm.
Chathromal, who is in his eighties, reminded his community that Narain Temple has made arrangements for service to the cows which is sacred in his religion.
The Temple has also made arrangements for Hindu rituals like, Bhajan Kirtan etc, he further said.
A devout Pakistani and an advocate of communal harmony, Mukhi Chatromal Chandan talking to APP also acknowledged the present government's efforts to provide drinking water to desert areas of Tharparkar, where there is a large presence of Hindu community.
He also felicitated Shaukat Aziz on his election to the National Assembly from a Tharparkar constituency and his subsequent assumption of Prime Minister's office, He pointed out that minority Hindu community played a key role in electoral success of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in Tharparkar constituency.
He also appealed to the provincial and federal governments to mitigate the sufferings of Thar people by liberal distribution of relief among the water-starved poor in the area.
