A large number of ad hoc employees of Sindh Food Department staged a protest demonstration against non-payment of their salaries in front of Karachi Press Club on Monday.
Holding banners and placards, the protesters were chanting slogans against the concerned authorities and demanding for payment of their salaries, which have not been paid to them for the last five months.
Muhammad Younus, Allah Bachaio Leghari and others told newsmen that 490 ad hoc watchmen of Food Department of Sindh government are not being regularised despite the orders of the Sindh chief minister and the summery recommended by the Sindh cabinet.
They further said these poor people and their families are facing starvation and a lot of other problems.
They appealed to the Sindh chief minister, finance minister and food minister for regularisation of their jobs and payment of salaries.
