Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Riaz Ahmed Tata has lauded the establishment of a hospital for free-treatment of drug-addicts in Karachi by the Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA).
Talking to a 12-member delegation of the Association led by its newly-elected Chairman Abdul Rahim Chughtai that met him in Federation House here on Wednesday, he said that the noble social activity of the PCDMA should be emulated by other trade bodies.
Abdul Rahim Chughtai and Mohammad Naveed Younis informed that the hospital named as the New Horizons Care Centre was established by the Association in June 2002 in collaboration with the Sindh Anti-Narcotics Force, and was meeting expenses of Rs 0.25 million monthly.
Riaz Tata called for close collaboration between the FPCCI and the trade bodies for the resolution of the problems of businessmen, saying it was at the initiative of PCDMA, the FPCCI got resolved the problem of sales tax audit of commercial importers on payment of sales tax on value-addition.
PCDMA Vice-Chairman Shaukat Hussain sought FPCCI's help in proper representation of the Association in dispute resolution committee and advisory committees set up in Custom House here.
