Four people, including a commander, who was wanted over the beheadings of an Indian railway engineer and his brother, were killed in Indian occupied Kashmir, authorities said on Friday.
Abdul Sattar, deputy chief commander of the Hizb-e-Islamia, was killed by Indian occupation soldiers in a clash in Hasanpur Tabela village in southern Anantnag district, an army statement said in Indian occupied Srinagar. "The slain militant was involved in the abduction and killing of a railway engineer and his brother," it said.
The brothers were beheaded in July, days after they were kidnapped. The engineer had been working on a railway line to connect the occupied Kashmir valley with rest of India. Since the slayings, work on the project has stopped.
Indian occupation troops also shot dead another freedom fighter in the northern district of Baramulla on Friday, while in the same district suspected freedom fighters shot dead an ex-freedom fighter now working with the Indian occupation troops, police said. A civilian was shot dead by suspected freedom fighters in Hakora village in Anantnag district.
