Residents of Korangi area of the city have called for safety and survival of the Sindh Government's skill development centre in the area, which is under various threats and fast moving towards destruction.
The Apprenticeship Training Centre, which houses official machinery, equipment and other infrastructure worth millions of rupees, is a source of economic empowerment for the people, who can get inexpensive and quality training in various trades and find jobs for them in private sector establishments in industrial and trade estates of the city, a group of residents told APP here on Sunday.
This facility remained flooded with sewage water, coming from broken sewerage lines around. The sewerage system has been shattered due to heavy traffic of trucks transporting sand and "bajri" for sale.
These heavily loaded trucks not only damage the sewerage system but also cause choking of the system, which is filled with the left-out sand and bajri, they said.
