Tremendous progress has been made in the IT & Telecom Sector in Pakistan over last 3-4 years. The policy measures undertaken by the Ministry of Information Technology are set to change the telecommunication road map forever.
The overwhelming interest and response shown by both the domestic and foreign investors in the telecom opportunities in fixed line and mobile cellular sector highlight their confidence in our transparent and well-balanced investor-friendly policies.
I am pleased to note that leading Pakistani telecom concerns, along with some internationally reputed foreign companies are working together to increase the reach of telecommunication facilities to the hitherto un-served and under-served areas in Pakistan by using sate of the art technology.
I am confident that these initiatives and the enthusiasm of the private sector telecom companies, with the support of the public sector organisations will go a long way in increasing tele-density in Pakistan and harness the available ICT technologies for the welfare of citizens.
