Punjab Governor Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) will inaugurate development projects like Sui gas, telephone exchange and a link road during his visit to Kube Chak on September 20, said Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, member of the National Assembly.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, she revealed the Sui gas and link road projects had been completed at a cost of Rs 20.6 million.
A population of over 20,000 in Kube Chak, Bheri and Sadha villages would be benefited of the facility of Sui gas she said.
The MNA also disclosed that the Punjab governor would also inaugurate the water supply and drainage scheme completed with the active financial support of Asian Development Bank (ADB) costing Rs 10 million.
The MNA said that the ADB had provided Rs 9.8 million, while the local people had contributed two million rupees for the completion of this project.
Similarly, 1,000 telephone lines had been added to the existing telephone exchange of Kotli Said Amir as a result of which 23 villages would be able to avail of the facility of telecommunication, she disclosed.
The MNA further said that adequate efforts were being made for redressing the problems, being faced by the rural population, on top priority basis.
Dr, Firdous was of the opinion that due to the effective polices of President General Pervez Musharraf, the country had attained economic and political stability as a result of which Pakistan had gained special repute globally.
Under the prevailing circumstances, the President in uniform was the need of the hour for coping with the internal and external threats to Pakistan, she added.
She pointed out that under the dynamic leadership of President Pervez Musharraf many mega projects had been completed in various parts of the country, while economy had been tracked on right direction.
Dr Firdous stressed upon the "anti-uniform" lobbies that they should concentrate on serving the people and play their instrumental role in the all round development of the country.
Later, the governor will also visit Daska.
