People's Labour Bureau (PLB) has demanded of the government to withdraw in-service or retired military men from all state departments, corporations, nationalised industrial units, Railways, Wapda, Pakistan Steel, KESC, NFC, TCP etc forthwith and withdraw special power for removal from service forthwith to end unrest among the general public and the workers.
Addressing a joint press conference here on Sunday, Malik Bashir Ahmed, divisional president; Syed Kishwar Razi and Syed Akhtar Hussain Shah lashed out at the present regime for introducing anti-workers laws.
They demanded that a national government comprising all political parties be formed, headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, to hold free, fair and transparent elections in the country and allow Mian Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto to come back to home.
The PLB office-bearers demanded restoration of suspended income tax officials, stoppage of registration of cases against Wasa, MDA employees and regularisation of Multan Municipal Administration ad hoc employees.
They also demanded immediate reduction in electricity, Sui gas tariff, bringing down the prices of consumer items and enactment of laws for the protection of industrial workers.
