Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has believed that there would be no peace in South Asia unless Indian occupied Kashmir dispute was not resolved as per the aspiration of people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairman JKLF has communicated to Pakistan, India and United Nations through a letter faxed and emailed to President General Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Secretary General Kofi Annan, on to India, Pakistan that practical way to solve Indian occupied Kashmir issue peacefully, democratically and honourably was to reunite the divided Jammu Kashmir state in several peaceful phrases under the auspices of an International Kashmir committee.
He demanded that Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir be made an independent state temporarily with a democratic, federal and secular system of governance and having friendly relations with both India and Pakistan.
He rejected joint statement of India and Pakistan of January 6, 2004 and termed it as neither made any mention of Kashmiris inherent, internationally recognised and pledged right to determine their future nor accepted them even as a party to Indian occupied Kashmir issue whereas they were the principal and the worst affected party to it.
The letter has held UN Secretary General Kofi Annan as duty bound under unanimous Security Council Resolution No. 1172 of June 6, 1998 to help solve Indian occupied Kashmir issue and urged him to persuade India and Pakistan to accept JKLF roadmap to solve the issue and to facilitate its implementation.
