University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore is organising a seminar on 'Dilemma of Split Biopsy' on Saturday, September 25.
Professor Dr Naseer Ahmed Chaudhry and Dr Farooq Aziz of Department of Pathology will co-ordinate the seminar while Lieutenant General Manzoor Ahmed (Retd), Professor Riaz Ahmed Dub, Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Brigadier Sajid Mushtaq and Dr Qasim Ahmed will address on the occasion.
The practice of splitting biopsies not only poses a dilemma for the pathologists in diagnosis but also seriously affects other stakeholders like the surgeon, physician, the hospital and most importantly the patients. Examination and evaluation of split biopsy material leave the pathologist wondering about the validity of his verdict on which his professional reputation depends.
