NCR Corporation announced that Syed Veqarul Islam has been appointed to the newly created position of NCR Solutions Managing Director, Pakistan.
Veqar will report to Stelios Fragkos, NCR Solutions vice-president for the Middle East/Africa region and responsible for growing NCR's complete portfolio of customer transaction and data warehousing solutions within Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
The regional demand for NCR's broad spectrum of products, software and services continues to grow, said Stelios Fragkos.
To address this demand, Stelios said: "We have consolidated the solution sales and delivery functions for NCR's Retail Store Automation, Financial Self Service, Payments and Imaging, Teradata Data Warehousing, Systemedia and Customer Services business units under a single leader within certain geographic markets.
This centralised management structure with cross-organisational authority is designed to streamline our customer communications and service interactions and will enable NCR to provide more comprehensive technology solutions.
Veqar is recognised in the IT industry with nearly 20 years of NCR experience, Fragkos added.
His depth of industry knowledge, strong regional business ties and intense focus on customer satisfaction will enable us to further solidify and extend NCR's market share within Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, he added.
Veqarul Islam joined NCR in 1985 and most recently headed up NCR's businesses in Pakistan. His background includes significant experience in IT sales, marketing and business operations.
In recent years, he has been personally involved in several of the largest IT projects in the Pakistan's history and was also instrumental in the expansion of the data warehouse and customer relationship management markets within Pakistan.
