The European Union (EU) has decided to enhance trade and investment relations with South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (Saarc) countries.
This was stated by Adam Robinski, an EU Consultant from Brussels during a meeting with Anjum Ahmad, director, Special Projects, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda).
According to a press release issued here on Monday, Robinski said he had been engaged by the European Union to compile a guidebook on the business venues existing in South Asian region.
He requested the Smeda officials to help him in compiling the information on trade and investment opportunities available with Pakistan especially in the SME sector, saying the EU will also be holding a couple of seminars and conferences to make its entrepreneurs aware of the business prospects emerging in South Asia.
On behalf of Smeda, Anjum Ahmad assured the foreign consultant of all possible co-operation in sharing the information on business opportunities existing in Pakistan.
The meeting was also attended by Asad Zahoor, Manager CEO Secretariat and Azam Beg, Management Associate of Smeda.
