The bi-annual meeting of the Federal Committee on Agriculture (FCA) will approve a strategy for Rabi crops here on Monday, October 11, 2004.
Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sikander Hayat Bosan will preside over the meeting while four provincial ministers and secretaries are also likely to participate in it. According to official sources, the meeting is likely to review overall position of agriculture outputs and crops marketing issues.
The committee will discuss the targets of the forthcoming Rabi crops including wheat, gram and oilseeds, and it is likely to evolve a viable policy for the guidance of farmers in this connection.
The committee meeting will assess the matters pertaining to agriculture inputs, requirements and marketing issues of the crops.
The committee will also review the situation of Kharif crops. It will assess the latest position of cotton production and formulate a policy to effectively handle the situation.
