the debate club of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore, arranged a bilingual debate contest titled "Iqbal's Dream and Today's Pakistan" here on Tuesday.
Professor Dr Muhammad Arsalan, former vice-chancellor, Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, was the chief guest while QAU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Manzoor Ahmad and all faculty members were also present on the occasion.
In Urdu contest, Maryam Javed of DVM 2nd year won the first position, while Fahad Aslam and Asif Ali (both students of first year) got second and third positions respectively.
In English debate, Muhammad Junaid of DVM second year got first position, while Ali Usman and Attiq Ahmad (both students of final year) obtained second and third positions, respectively.
Professor Dr Muhammad Arsalan and Professor Dr Manzoor Ahmad gave away prizes and certificates to the wining students.
They appreciated the students debating skills, saying they are future leaders of the country so they should use their energies in learning education and professional skills.
