Sui Southern Gas company (SSGC) Limited Managing Director Munawar Basir Ahmed has announced the formation of an advisory board to resolve the complaints of industrialists of Kotri Industrial area.
He made the announcement while speaking as chief guest at a reception hosted in his honour by the members of Kotri Association of Trade and Industry (Kati) at Site area Kotri on Tuesday.
The SSGC chief said he himself would be the head of the board, while the SSGC officers and Kotri industrialists would be its members.
He said business facilitation centres were being established in all the industrial areas of the province to provide proper guidance to the industrialists regarding the provision of early gas connections.
Such a centre had already been established in Korangi industrial area, Karachi, while the same would also be set up soon in Kotri, he said.
Basir said the committee was fully committed to resolve the grievances of the industrialists on priority basis to boost industrial development. Priority was being given to those industries, which were being recommended by the Board of Investment (BoI) and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), he said.
He called upon the Sindh industrialists to play their due role in the development of areas where their industries were functioning.
The industrialists of Sialkot had played a vital role in the development of their city and such a spirit was also required in the Sindh, he added. Munawar Basir said the SSGC had spent Rs 15 million for the provision of civic facilities in some parts of Karachi, Badin and Ziarat during the last financial years. That year, the company had again allocated Rs 15 million for the development of other areas of the country.
Earlier, Kati's Senior Vice-President Tang Baloch highlighted the problems being faced by the industrialists of Kotri Industrial area. Kati Chairman (Kotri) Touqir Tang, in his welcome address, highlighted the activities of the association.
