The Islamabad district administration is setting up 30 fair price shops in the federal capital in collaboration with flour, sugar, ghee and pulse mills associations to ensure provision of cheap edible items during Ramazan. According to a statement issued here on Thursday, new fair prices will be operative from the first of Ramazan.
Flour bag of 20kg will be sold at Rs228; ghee Rs55 per kg; pulse chana Rs24 per kg; basin Rs24 per kg; and sugar Rs19 per kg.
In addition to it, a cheap bazaar is being set up at hockey ground, sector G-7, where vegetables, pulses, chicken, etc., will be available at cheap rate.
The district food control authority will fix rates of vegetables and fruits on daily basis and the rate list will be available to retailers at Sabzi Mandi Islamabad.
A price control room will also be set up in the office of the Islamabad deputy commissioner.
