The Judge of the Accountability Court Rawalpindi, Manzoor Hussain Malik has issued non-bailable arrest warrants against former Wapda and IESCO officials in embezzlement references filed by national accountability bureau against these officials.
According to details, the court has issued warrants of line superintendents IESCO/Wapda Rawalpindi Tariq Mahmood and Taseer Khan, Store Incharge Muhammad Sadiq, former ASM regional store and former SDO Humayun Khan in references filed by the national accountability bureau against these officials.
The learned judge in his order has directed the high officials of Wapda and IESCO to make sure the immediate arrest of these officials so that proceedings on these references could be started.
Meanwhile, the co-accused in the same references was presented in the court.
It may recalled that the NAB had filed two references on the recommendation of high Wapda officials against the above mentioned officials for embezzlement in the purchase of electricity polls, heavy transmission lines and other equipment.
Through embezzlement, these officials caused a loss of more than Rs 10 million to the national exchequer.
