Malaysian oil palm product exports for October 1-20 stood at 804,369 tonnes, down 9.4 percent from the 887,481 tonnes shipped in September 1-20, cargo surveyor Society Generale de Surveillance said on Wednesday.
But the figure was just 2 percent lower when compared with SGS's estimate of 820,681 tonnes for October 1-20, 2003. SGS said in a shipment estimate that the 804,369 tonnes for the first 20 days of the current month included 732,107 tonnes of palm oil.
In the palm oil category, 82,121 tonnes were made up of RBD palm oil, 337,176 tonnes of RBD palm olein, 123,648 tonnes of RBD palm stearin and 87,548 tonnes of crude palm oil.
China was the biggest buyer of Malaysian oil palm products for October 1-20, taking 256,290 tonnes, followed by India, which bought 56,650 tonnes and Jordan with 34,834 tonnes.
