Brazil's 2004/05 (May/April) cocoa arrivals from Bahia and other states totalled 1.83 million 60-kg bags by October 17, down 17 percent from 2.21 million bags a year ago, the Bahia Commercial Association said Wednesday.
Bahia state, Brazil's main cocoa producer, delivered 64,718 bags in the week, compared with the 63,825 bags in the same week in 2003/04. Cocoa analyst Thomas Hartmann said in the association's weekly report that arrivals from Bahia maintained a level comparable to those of recent weeks but are likely to start declining from now on.
