The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has clarified that only 4,000 metric tonnes of wheat have come under port demurrage out of 155,612 metric tonnes discharged at Port Qasim. A press release, issued here on Thursday, says that this was caused due to slow lifting by the provincial governments, which are supposed to arrange for their transportation.
The port demurrage shall however, be paid by the concerned provincial governments and not by the TCP, the Corporation said while clarifying a news item published on Thursday under headline "Slow lifting of wheat costs TCP heavily".-PR
