Qazi Muhammad Jamil Advocate from NWFP has been elected president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), according to unofficial results of the 2004-05 election held on Saturday.
When Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry Advocate, who is also current vice-president SCBA, was contacted in this regard, he told APP that election process remained peaceful and there was no complaint from any part of the country so far. The SCBA election was held on Saturday in pursuance of rule 13 of the Rules of Supreme Court Bar Association.
According to him, two vice-presidents of the SCBA from Sindh and NWFP have already been elected unopposed in the elections-2004-05 of the association.
According to the list issued by the returning officer Tariq Mehmood who is also current SCBA president, Muhammad Aziz Malik and Abdul Latif Yusufzai have been elected as vice presidents from Sindh and NWFP as no nomination papers were received till last date of filing.
