Concerned authorities directed to ensure just utilisation of Jahez grant meant for the industrial workers of District Swat and prepare a database of industrial workers within two weeks time to ensure transparency in the distribution.
The directives to this effect were issued by NWFP Minister for Industries, Labour and Manpower Malik Zafar Azam while chairing a joint meeting of Muttahida Labour Federations, Labour Department and workers Welfare Board.
Malik Zafar further directed the concerned authorities to register maximum number of industrial workers under social security scheme throughout the province particularly in district Swat and take legal action against all such owners of industrial units who were reluctant to register workers under the scheme.
He added that labours played pivotal role in the overall progress and prosperity of the country and the MNA government would redress their grievances on priority basis.
Beside MPA Maulana Nizamuddin, Director Labour Zahoor Khan, Director General Social Security, Muttahida Labour Federation Senior Vice President Syed Liaqat Bacha, Provincial President Mohammad Iqbal and other office bearers of Industrial Workers Union also attended the meeting.
