The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leaders want to visit Pakistan before holding the third round of peace talks with New Delhi, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said overnight. "Before holding third round of talks with India we should be allowed to go to Pakistan for talks there," he told the state-owned television Doordarshan overnight.
He said the visit to Pakistan would "enhance the possibility of having a fruitful dialogue (with India)".
"In Pakistan we would like to talk to the people and politicians there to discuss how the (Kashmir) issue can be resolved," he said.
On Saturday Indian junior home minister Sriprakash Jaiswal said New Delhi would begin talks with Hurriyat only after the alliance resolved its internal bickerings, the United News of India reported.
Jaiswal and his senior and Home Minister Shivraj Patil will tour Kashmir between November 6 and 9 to asses the situation, the minister said. "We will try and find means to begin talks with the Hurriyat ... but before that, its members would have to solve their internal problems," he said.
