With the Eid shopping picking up fast, a number of eve teasing incidents in different markets of the provincial metropolis have increased making it extremely difficult for women to visit bazars. As no arrangements have been made so far to control hoodlums and stop them from indulging in pestering women, large number of youth can be seen in different bazars who, after teasing women, disappear in rush.
Some daredevil hoodlums even bully females when they try to raise voice against their objectionable acts and do not refrain from physically assaulting them.
A number of women talking to APP said as there is great rush of women in bazars of city these days in connection with Eid shopping, arrangements should be made to deploy sufficient police personnel to check incidents of eve-teasing.
"As most of salaried persons have got their monthly salaries and their families are visiting market for Eid shopping, proper arrangements should be made so that they can carry out shopping without facing any problems, "said a woman who faced eve-teasers at Main Bazar, Chungi Amarsadhu.
Some women complained that sometime they have also to face harsh and unbearable attitude of shopkeepers, who have increased prices of various items and when females try to bargain they use filthy language accusing them of having wasted their time.
"It is right of buyers to get various articles at reasonable rates and effective arrangements should be made to restrain stop shopkeepers from harassing women," said a women in Ichra bazar.
Incidents of eve teasing were reported from different markets including Banoo Bazar, Anarkali, Ichra Bazar, Sanda Bazar, Dharampura Bazar, Liberty Market, Baghbanpura Bazar, Krishan Nagar Bazar and various markets of the walled city.
