A high level official committee on alternate energy will be constituted within next three weeks which will review energy generation process from various sources like wind-mills, solar energy, high tides and bio-gas according to the requirement of different areas of the province.
It would also give recommendations about the implementation of the process and ensure its progress.
This was stated by Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister on Environment and Alternate Energy, Mohammad Noman Saigal while talking to various delegations related to alternate energy in his office here on Monday.
In the first phase, he said a strong structure would be established for Alternate Energy department and negotiations would be held with multi-national companies for initiating joint ventures in this field on Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis.
The second step would be the finalisation of strategy to execute the alternate energy generation plan. Besides generating maximum alternate energy through various channels, the programme would also cover the provision of the electronic goods based on alternate to the people at lowest possible prices, he said.
The advisor said that meetings were also being held with ambassadors and consul generals of various countries deputed in Pakistan to finalise joint ventures related to alternate energy so that benefit could be taken from the experiences and observations of those countries who excelled in the generation of alternate energy.
He informed the delegations that his ministry was engaged in dialogue with various companies manufacturing wide range of electronic goods which were fed by solar energy to ensure availability of those goods to the people of Pakistan at very affordable prices.
