The CIA Police Islamabad have arrested at least 12 criminals, who are believed to be the key figures involved in four car snatching incidents and belonged to robbers' gangs, and recovered stolen cars, mobile sets and other valuables worth million of rupees, police said.
Bashir Ahmed Noon CIA Inspector acting on the directives of SSP Islamabad, Liaquat Ali Khan constituted a raiding party to trace the high profile criminal gangs involved in many cases of car theft, dacoity, robbery and other heinous crimes in the federal capital.
During a separate raid, CIA Police nabbed three accused of a car lifter gang namely Noor Saeed, Asad Saeed and Israruddin and recovered five cars of different models from their possession. These cars were stolen from the different areas of Golra, Margalla, Sabzi Mandi and Rawalpindi.
Police have also arrested Rafaqat, Waqar Ahmed, Ulfat and Iftikhar, who have close liaison with the inter-provincial car snatching gang and recovered two cars raising the number to seven. The recovered car number are IDT 8033, AD 164, IDD 8718, LHM 9527, IDC 4145, LHY 1991 and RIZ 852.
The cases have been lodged against them in different police station of the federal capital and start probe to carry out more arrests in this context. Similarly, the CIA Police also busted two dacoit gangs and recovered 22 mobile phones, CDs, VCDs and jewellery besides Rs800,000 cash from them.
